Natural calamity is a common phenomenon in Bangladesh. Particularly for the people who lives in the coastal region of the country. Every year Bangladesh is suffering from different natural disaster and also losing life and assets which destroying all the development efforts and pushing people to vulnerable situation. USS is very much concern about that and implementing projects to cope with disaster and regain a regular productive livelihood for the coastal community. Some recent examples are - A Disaster Resilient Future: Mobilizing Communities and institutions for effective risk reduction DIPECHO–VI Project,

Building a Disaster Resilient Bangladesh (DIPECHO VII), Enhancing Inclusive Disaster Resilience in Bangladesh DIPECHO-VIII Project, Saving and supporting community to immediate recovery from disaster Impacts, Dacope, Khulna, Protect most vulnerable children from hunger, abuse and respond with basic services in the cyclone AILA affected areas, Early recovery and rehabilitation of cyclone AILA affected people in Bangladesh, Emergency Food Security and Livelihood support in the Cyclone AILA affected region in Bangladesh (EFSL Project).

লবণ সহিষ্ণু ফসল সূর্যমুখী ফুল চাষ করেছেন Self- help group মেঘনা রিফ্লেক্ট সার্কেলের সদস্যরা।

Enhancing Inclusive Disaster Resilience in Bangladesh DIPECHO-VIII Project প্রকল্পের এ বক্তব্য রাখছেন উলাসী সৃজনী সংঘের নির্বাহী পরিচালক। প্রধান অতিথি হিসাবে মঞ্চে উপবিষ্ট দাকোপ উপজেলা চেয়ারম্যান আবুল হোসেন সহ অন্যান্য অতিথিবৃন্দ।

বিকল্প গোখাদ্য হিসাবে নেপিয়ার ঘাস উৎপাদনকারী মিনতি।

নিজের পোষা গরুকে নেপিয়ার ঘাস খাওয়াচ্ছেন মিনতি।

দূর্যোগ প্রস্তুতির জন্য উলাসী সৃজনী সংঘের আয়োজনে জনসচেতনতামূলক মকড্রিল অনুষ্ঠিত হচ্ছে।

Orientation on School Risk Assessment (SRA) and School Risk Reduction Action Plan SRRAP at Schools under DIPECHO VIII project

 

Ulashi Sreejony Sanghan (USS) organized School risk assessment at (LaudobiM.N. Govt. primary school and Nalian Forest Govt. primary school) Schools organized by DIPECHO VIII project action. Each orientation were plan 2 day each. AUEO, Teacher & School management Committee members and children were participate in theses orientation sessions. Total number of participants was 44 (Male-25 & Female-19). AUEO Dacope Upazila inaugurated the orientation session as master trainer. He said his speech that, Dacope Upazila of Khulna district is most vulnerable to disasters in Bangladesh. There are various disaster risks due to climate-induced effects Dacope Upazila. In any time of disaster in these region School building were used as cyclone shelters.

At this time, students cannot go to school. They are affected. We should be prepare proper education plan in school for continue education system in any disaster period. He also said, we can be free from this problem when SBDP Model will shape our organizational model. He emphasizes to work with school by SBDP model. Finally he thanks to USS & Action Aid to implement SBDP Model in Dacope. He advice to all orientation Participants” To learn in this training the local context & execute in the development plan in your School”. He high lights the local risk reduction issues in his speech. Co-financing for Demonstration of Resilient Livelihood Practice under DIPECHO VIII project

 

Ulashi Sreejony Sangha (USS) had provided support for Demonstration of Resilient Livelihood Practices of Seed for vegetable (all 40 beneficiaries of 2 livelihood groups), 60 Ducks and goose for duck rearing (6 beneficiaries of women group), grocery goods for small shop (2 beneficiaries of women group) business and total 8 sheep for sheep rearing (4 beneficiaries of women group).
